Farm life
Its been quite the crazy beginning of the school year. With my transition from the jr. high to the high school, football, girl scouts, parades, the new lean to, donkeys, bailing hay, broken bailer....moldy hay....the list is just crazy. The adjustment to farm life has been a little overwhelming this past week. Just seems like things are breaking and going wrong. However, waking up before 5 am to go feed the donkeys can be the highlight of my day. Watching Kate wake up and realize its breakfast time is fun. Her jumping around and playing makes everything else just disappear. Charlie and Kitty seem to be doing better. Kitty doesn't kick thru the fense anymore....but she still won't let Kate near Charlie.
Tyler likes Mrs. Brush. He says she smiles ALL the time. Tyler was not excited about school this year. Sad that he didn't have any friends in class. I think he is doing ok. I can hardly drag words out of him somedays.
Sam is in heaven being in Riann's room. I don't think its possible for her to love her teacher more! She is excited to go to school everyday. Helps that Adrianna is in the class.
I've adjusted to the high school routine, but yearbook is killing me. It might just be a miracle if it gets published in time. Finding time and organizing 20 kids after school is not easy. Then give the kids a camera and times to be places. Its challenging to say the least.
Tyler bailed hay for the first time a week ago. Bob, Dan and Tyler did square bails for the donkeys. Unfortunately, the bailer broke 1/2 was through. Then the hay we did have got covered with a tarp that didn't do its job. So now half of what we had is moldy and no good~life on a farm! Im trying to stay calm....but if I could find time I would have a melt down.
So, now our weekends are full of work.
Dans list is endless. Fix the lean- to so we can store hay, trench for water, finish the porch...oh don't forget spread the dirt, plant grass seed, clean out the barn, empty our storage unit! All around 45 hour work weeks, 3 nights of football, Saturday afternoon football games, and girl scouts!
Just keep praying for us!
