Summer almost over!

I sit here tonight after almost two days of chaos and thinking that I am going back to work in a week has gotten me quite emotional. My children are about to go back into daycare and scream when they have to come home. I sit here with Samantha sleeping sound in her bed and fighting with her brother to lay down. While summer break comes to an end, I am amazed at all the lessons my children have taught me this summer about life, both about raising two children, and about understanding myself. Though it was Tyler that first showed me how to be a mother, Samantha has shown me how to be an even better mother. Raising such a different soul from her brother has taught me the differences that exist between children, the wonderful things that make them so original, and all the complimenting parts that can come together to make these two perfect children. Every day I laugh at the mischief that has taken up permanent residence behind Samanthas eyes and yet the sun shines in her smile. I treasure the curiousity that fuels all of Tylers questions, the "what if" and the "why". I charish the moments when I notice Tyler hugging Samantha, giving her a kiss, or shoving her down the hallway. I constantly wonder about the places this world is going to take the both of them. What is in Gods plan for these children that I call "mine" but are ultimately "his"? We have camped, swam, visited grandparents and had playdates with friends. My summer to-do list didn't even get touched but the sprinklers, bikes, and stroller got overused. The important things in life happened while the house cleaning didn't.
Overall, it was a great summer!
Tyler and Samantha Mommy loves you and has enjoyed this summer tremendously!
