A Sad Good-Bye

Yesterday when I read on yahoo news that after 72 years Guiding Light was being pulled from the air I was extremely saddened. Actually, I felt like I was kicked in the stomach! I can't imagine a world without Reva and Josh. I remember the love of Beth and Phillip, the excitement of Harley and Mallet. These crazy characters have been part of my life since I can remember. I feel like I have lived part of my life in Springfield. My mourning, along with many others will happen over the next few months up until that fateful day that this one time grammy award winning show ends. It has been written that Guiding light could not keep up with these changing times and hard economy.
I can think back to watching it after school, my mom and grandma watching it and even Gigi. I remember living with Angie and watching it at 11:00 when she got home from work with a big bowl of popcorn. I remember running to the dorms after class just so I didn't miss an episode. What is daytime TV going to be without Guiding Light?
Springfield...I will miss you!

I had not heard this! I too have grown up watching all of CBS soaps ... always been a fan of Kim Zimmer ... Even though I haven't watched since college, it's still sad to hear ...
