Coast Guard Weekend

What a great weekend for the Coast Guard Festival. We had great weather and the kids had a blast. This is the weekend that I look so forward too. Whether it because I always associate the festival with my birthday or the fun we all have playing tourist for a weekend.

Friday night after dinner, Tyler, Dan and I headed to the carnival. Sam stayed back at the Marina with Grandma and Grandpa. It is so nice for us having Grandma and Grandpas boat at Grand Isle. We hopped on the bikes and rode downtown. We spent 3 hours on rides. Tyler loves every bit of a carnival. I did tell him the zipper is mom's favorite but he said he would wait until next year for that one!

Now thats a boy having a great time!

Saturday morning we went down to the boat (after stopping at starbucks for our coffee). The four of us left Grandma and Grandpa to head to the parade and hang out with the Zant/Santigos for a bit. Jami made me feel guilty for not wanting to bring my kids to the parade...so I had to show up! Tyler loves the parades...the bands, the fire trucks and the loud noices!

When it got to warm we rode the bikes back for a boat ride. I can't believe that Tyler is jumping off back of the boat! He jumped and played in Spring Lake for hours. Dan and I had to ride the dingy (zodiac) back to the marina b/c Sam had fallen asleep in my arms as we were driving it around. Tyler jumped in and fell asleep too. It was a LONG, cold, wet ride back to Grand Isle!

Of course we ended the night with ice cream and fireworks. Samantha fell asleep in the bike cart on the way home so we put her on the boat before the fireworks and she stayed there all night. After the fireworks, Dan and I, with Tyler in the bike cart rode to my grandparents picked up my car and spent the night at my parents.

It was another chaotic Coast Guard weekend!
Love you, Grandma and Grandpa...Thank You
