Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins tonight. Of course the kids wouldn't touch the guts of the pumpkin. Grandma and I cleaned them out. Tyler gave carving a heck of a shot! With little help his pumkin turned out fantastic. Sam wasn't all the interested so I did most of it why she played with the pumpkin peices. It was a fun night.

How day began wasn't so good. Tyler woke up sick and luckily Grandma Tonda was able to take the day off...but when Dan was bringing Tyler there at 6 AM the fuel pump went out on his car. In the mean time I was taking Sam to Shannons and almost lost her twinkle toes...long story...lets just say it was a rough morning at our house. By bedtime Tyler was feeling better but the truck wasn't.

Jo's Wedding and Uncle Jims visit

Our weekend in Madison was fantastic. A great get-away and a fantastic start to the week with Uncle Jim and Rachelle.

Jollay Orchards

Tyler, Sam and I met the "gang" in Coloma for some picking of apples. Courtney and the kids came too. Jami, Marc, Aaron, Zoe, Laurie, Jay, Hannah, Parker, Debbie, Keith and Timmy. We had a great time but super bummed that Dan had to work. It was nice to finally get together with the kids.

We picked enough apples for me to make a pie and 6 quarts of applesauce.
Then we got anothe 1/2 a bushel from Mike Churchill to do another 6 quarts and 6 pints of applesauce.

A bit of catch up

So much has been going on. Unfortunately, with Coloma being a "new" job and going to school I don't blog very much at all. I am extremely tired ALL the time. I just keep thinking at some point this is all going to be over and I will be able to sit and relax. ONLY six more months
Tyler is loving school and coming home with the best stories. He loves Mrs. Brennan and all of his friends. He is learning so much. Everyday he is teaching US something new. His double pairs like t/d's and p/b's. Noisy words and quiet words, those that use your voice box vs. those that don't. He loves gym and comes home with new stretches every week. We are stuggling with Spanish but I will admit I have a hard time with that homework. He wrestles/fights on the playground with a couple other boys, and his stories about it crack us up. This is Tylers first season hunting with Daddy. He goes on Friday nights while Sam and I go to dance class
Sam is learning so much at Shannon's. Shannon works with the kids everyday. Sam knows shapes like octagon, pentagon and trapazoid. The weather, the day, the months. She was so proud when she was the helper for the week. Sam goes to dance every Friday and is enjoying her special time. Her shuffles and steps make me smile. I will admit its one of the only times I feel old. I realize how long ago I was in dance and that I am now one of the "mom's" in the waiting room. Sam and I ussually do dinner after, just us girls.
Life is good around here. Everyone is happy. This weekend is Mom and my 6th annual Grandville shopping trip which I can't wait. Grandma Carlson is coming with. My get away..money or not.
Freshwater Coloma opened and we have attended a few Sundays. It had a fantastic first Sunday in the Middle School. Freshwater Paw Paw opened at MAA this weekend but not yet into the auditorium. I am so looking forward to that.

Dance Zone

Samantha started dance in September. She goes on Friday evenings at 5:15 to Dance Zone in Paw Paw. That first class sure brought back years of memories for me. There is nothing better than watching my daughter dance. Can't wait for May and the Recital!
