Goodbye Chickens and Ducks

We said our last goodbyes to the ducks and 5 chickens.  We still have the Reds left and one buff.  Funny thing is that the ones left are giving us double yolkers...it makes me laugh

I did give the girls hot oatmeal at 5 am.  Oatmeal with maple syrup.  This made the sad day a bit better.  Just thinking I had happy chickens..poor ducks :(  Saying goodbye was tough.

Getting ready for crazy

This year has already gone so fast.  Tyler has football 4 days a week, and Sam has had cheer twice a week.  However, we have an overlap in sports and Samantha now is doing basketball 2 nights a week.  OH, and lets not forget Girl Scouts on Sundays.  YES...this means I am never home, but also makes me a crazy lady.  Somehow Dan and I make it all work.

With Dan leaving soon we have been getting ready for winter.  We have gotten they hay in the barn, moved the barn around to make more room for the girls in the cold weather.  The plow has been bought and put on the Ranger and the chickens are going to there "appointment" tomorrow.  It feels nice to be prepared for once.

Cooking

This girl loves to cook.  The first day we got to be home in forever.  It was cold and rainy.  So I put a roast in the crock pot and Sam made a pumpkin pie and no bake nutella cookies.
Great way to spend a Sunday.
