Slip n Slide

We ended the weekend home with Daddy for Fathers Day. It was HOT and we needed to cool off so we broke out Sam's birthday Dora Slip n Slide. Tyler loved it...Sam wasn't going to slide. I even busted out the swim suit and slide a few times. It hurts more than I remember.

Weekend in Grand Haven

After the great night Thursday I stayed in town until Sunday. Friday we played tourist and headed downtown. We rode the trolley, played at the Mackinaw Kite Company and had ice cream at Sweet Temptations. We even did it all before the rain came down. Last year we did the same thing the same weekend...check out the difference a year makes.

Tyler was big enough to ride in the back all by himself this year. He loved it!

It was another great weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Dingy....we love you!

Paint the Town Pink

My girlfriend Julie (George)is walking in a 3 day 60 mile fight for breast cancer in San Diego. This past Thursday the "coconutter strutters" had a fund raiser at Running Circles in Grand Haven. So, we all came together to support her and try to win some free stuff. It was a great night and I hope they raised tons of money.
George, I am so proud of you and good luck.

It was nice because it brought us all together!

Birthday Party....finally

We had Sams party Sunday and we couldn't of asked for better weather. It is always We are so lucky to have the two greatest families blended together to make one. Tyler and Sam have so many grandparents they can't even keep track. We made sandwiches (ham and pizza) on the fire. We brought out the jumper and played in the water. Sam got tons of presents...spoiled of course!
This is a happy two year old!

We have the best families ever! Tyler and Sam have so many grandparents they can't even keep them straight!

Do Da Parade

I woke up Saturday morning wanting to get out of the house. I was playing on facebook when a girl friend posted she was heading to the do da parade. That was it! We were getting ready, waking daddy up and heading to kalamazoo. I am so glad we did. It was packed. Dan dropped us off and went to hunt down parking. On his way to meet up with us, he ran into Aleigha, Chris and Rowan (from daycare). It was fun to hang out with them and Sam loves Roro. We will definately go next year but a little more prepared for all the downtown festivities.

we can't forget that on the way home we stopped to look at cars...and bought one!

terrible two!

My last post about Sams birthday was so sweet and all about what a joy she is...well, thats not the whole truth. Sam is definately going to show me that there is such thing as the "terrible two's". I wasn't sure they existed since Tyler tried me when he was three. Sam on the other hand is dramatic, speaks her mind, wants everything her way and likes to fight. Today at daycare was proof. I hate picking the kids up hearing that one had a bad day. Tylers are few and far between, Sam's seem to be happening more frequently. Thank goodness Kristi loves my kids like her own. I am going to do my best replaying what I heard happened.

Sam kicked Alex today. Kristi of course put her in time out. two-three minutes later told her she could get out if she said sorry. Sam of course said she would, Kristi walked her to Alex and then said NO. Kristi put her back in time out, gave her the same speech, walked her to Alex AGAIN and she said NO. Kristi told her she was going to have to go down for a nap if she didn't apologize...instead of saying sorry, Sam took a nap.

What am I going to do with my stubborn little girl. The attitude of her mom and the stubborness of her dad this girl is going to turn us both gray FAST! Its going to be a long twenty some years...that is when she will be out on her own...right?

Samantha Dianne is Two

When did this happen Ms. Samantha Dianne? You are two years old today, we don't have a baby in our house. As sad as this can be for some, it is a great joy for me, watching you grow and turning into a little girl is fun. You just started counting to 10 this week sitting on Daddy's lap. You love having me paint your toes and dressing up as a princess. You want to do everything Tyler does and more. You are beautiful, funny and smart. Your blonde hair, blue eyes and pretty smile make people melt. You distroy, scream and whine. You are loud, bossy and a complete drama queen. You are definately your own person. You fight for what you want and yell when you don't get it. I love watching all your crazy personalities come out. There is so much about you that I am already proud of!
I love you, and Happy 2nd Birthday!

So, everyone keeps asking what we did for Sams birthday....well, nothing yet. Her party was suppose to be this Sunday but because the weather we canceled it. It will be next Sunday instead. But the morning of her birthday we woke up and had birthday cake. Which Tyler made ALL by himself! A new Houston tradition...why wait! We start the day with cake.
