Hemlock Lake 2011 Ice Storm

Paw Paw and Coloma both had another snow day on Tuesday. Because it was the day after Dan's surgery, we were ALL home together again. I recieved an email that afternoon from Hemlock saying there was some damage to campers and trees down out at the lake. Our camper was safe seeing it is still in Plainwell from the damage the year before. Its just waiting to be picked up. But we took a ride to check it out anyway. It was beautiful out there!

Dans Hand

Dan had a cyst removed Monday. Paw Paw had a snowday and I already had it off due to midwinter break. The weather was horrible. We had to be in Kalamazoo at 7:10. We dropped the kids off at Shannons first.
Dan got in to surgery and I searched for a coffee shop with power. Got my starbucks and then hung out in the waiting room writing my final paper. It was a productive hour for me. Everything went well for Dan too. However, when he was waking up he was inappropriate and embarressing. ahahhahahahha

We were home by 12:30 and it was nap time for dan. We don't sleep without Tyler's lion! So this picture had to be taken.

Slip-n-Slide in the freezing rain?

NUFF SAID!

Crazy Dad....don't dare him.

Ready for Florida-Thanks Grandma Dingy

Growing up we always had new summer clothes to bring to florida. I remember tearing off tags every evening after playing at the beach and in the pool all day. I loved new clothes! I guess grandma dingy thinks Tyler and Sam need the same treatment. How lucky are we! Sam got 4 pairs of shoes, dresses, skirts and bunches of t-shirts. Tyler got shorts, t-shirts, socks and we can't forget PJ's for all! ALL ready for Florida...only 41 more days!

Joseph and the Technocolor Dream Coat

Sam and I had a girls day. Shopping, nails, toes, and haircuts! We went to the mall while Tyler hung out at grandma's. Then after a little nap we met grandma for dinner and the play. Grandma Tonda, Samantha and I went to see Morgan Vandenberg at the Paw Paw Performing Arts Center in the school play. We got all dressed up and went to subway for dinner (its what Sam wanted). It was a great night. Shannon and Tyne saved us seats by them. Samantha had a blast watching Mo! The hug from Morgan in the end made me realize once again how lucky we are to be a part of such an amazing daycare family.

Samantha, you will likely not remember this day. But I will FOREVER! I love being with you, doing girl things, and laughing. You are my sunshine.

Stitches! 2nd time

The first time I get my cell phone at home is the day Tyler gets hurt. When I arrived at daycare on Friday waiting for Tyler to get off the bus the phone rings and it was Mrs. Brennan, for ME! Tyler wasn't on the bus, instead he was sitting waiting to be picked up. A girl decided to pick up a block of ice on the last recess and throw it. She didn't mean to hit Tyler in the face. However, it did! A trip to bronson and 3 stitches later we were home.
I picked Tyler up from school. We went home, cleaned up, picked up his DS and my cell phone. Dan picked up Sam from Shannon's and brought her to dance. Then they went to dinner with grandma Tonda. Tyler and I went to Target after Bronson for a little toy for being great with the dr. and nurses. We got home around 8:00.
Tyler answered ALL their questions, did what they asked, and was a sweet as could be. He was so great but that was only until the stitches started. He was crying and screaming! He was saying that it "hurt worser now" and this was the "worstest day ever". He recovered well...after a few hugs from mom :)

5 days later the stitches came out. Tyler and I went to Bronson. It was a nightmare in the ER. I so did not want to be there. The pediatrition said we needed them out where they were put in. The ER was packed with sick people, it was GROSS. Luckily, Bronson is the best hospital with the greatest staff ever. The triage nurse, grabbed a dr. and a folding chair. It was done right in the hallway and we were out. Thank goodness our nurse saw the horror on my face and understood why.

Writing S A M

She does this so well....so proud of our Samerella. She tries so hard and is so excited everytime she spells anything...especially her name.
While Tyler was filling out his Valentine's cards she was doing hers all by herself!

Is there any question now?

She is so my girl....

Blizzard of 2011

A day off of school for all of us. There was a ton of snow and blowing. I think they are saying we have 12-16 inches of snow more in some places. All of West Michigan seems to be closed up.

We can't forget our Snow Ice Cream!
1 gallon fresh snow
1 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1 tbs vanilla
and yummy!

When dan got home from work and after he snowblowed the driveway.

We all went to Paw Paw and Lake Cora sledding. We had so much fun. All Tyler kept saying is "that was awesome" and "sweet" hands up all the way down! He wanted to hit the jumps and get some air. Sam went down with me. However, we don't move to fast when its time to get off and Sam was taken out by a few girls. She stood and was taken right off her feet by another sled. She wasn't hurt....but there were some tears.

Night Night!

I could still just watch the kids sleep.
