Mr. Snowman

Dan had to work all weekend...So, it was the kids and I during the day. After running to the bank, getting Tylers haircut and running through McDonalds we came home and headed outside. Tyler and Sam were excited to make a snowman right outside Tylers window!

We came in for hot chocolate and some quiet time. I was the only one who fell asleep.

The First RSVP

This is going to seem so little...yet it was so big to me. We sent invitations to school on Monday for Tylers birthday party at airway lanes. I let him pick two friends from school. Since we have other friends, daycare kids and relatives coming we had to make a cut. Tyler of course picked Justin and Alexander. Tonight we went to grandma tonda's for dinner. While there Justin's mom called to RSVP. It was the first time I got to speak to a friends parent. She was excited because it is Justin's first birthday party and I was excited to have the RSVP. Just one of those firsts that I will cherish. I am also so glad it was her because she shared in my excitement!
Can't wait for the party.

Build a Bear

Tyler went to build a bear last year for Caysee's birthday party. Sam hasn't ever been, so when I needed (wanted) to do something Friday night while Dan was up north snowmobiling I figured it was the perfect idea. Tyler could bring Monkey, who needed the dr. and a new outfit, while Sam could pick out a bear (or kitty). We had a great time...and spent a fast 60 bucks :)

With our new build a bears, and there new PJ's we came home and layed down sleeping bags on the living room floor and watched Monsters vs. Aliens...GREAT FRIDAY NIGHT!

Begining of Potty Training

My thoughts on potty training Sam were much different than with Tyler. With Sam my theory was when it happens it happens....well looks like it is time. Kristi has Cole and Rowan both 3 years old and in the middle of potty training so might as well get Sam aboard too. I showed up last week and she had just gotten off the potty. Therefore, we did the potty dance and made a big deal out of the situation! Then Friday she went twice at Kristi's and went at the Farm in the evening with only one accident. Saturday was void, for Dan and the kids played and ran around all day. I was out of town and that would have been a lot of work for Dan. Monday she went on the potty at Kristi's again and all evening at ahome. She even slept with her panties on with no accident. I am so excited to be saying good-bye to diapers the expense and the time...yet so sad to be saying goodbye to a baby. She will always be our little girl...diapers or not...but to see another chapter end is always emotional.

Grandma and Grandpa Dingy are coming this weekend. Thus, by the end of this weekend we WILL have her potty trained! This is it!

Snowmobiling in Cadillac!

When I first picked the weekend I didn't have any idea it was Cadillac's winter festival...I swear! Angie and I headed up north for a girls snowmobile trip. That meant me towing, loading, and unloading by myself (of course I had Angie help me). It meant me fixing if needed, starting them up and reading the map, these are all things Dan has always taken care of for me. It was a piece of cake. Angie and I had a blast. We had sunshine and clear skies all weekend...the trails suffered but it didn't hold us back from putting on 180 miles. Friday we got in 3 1/2 hours on the trail and Saturday another 4-5 hours. Saturday we watched a bit of the drag races, some of the kiddie racing, found where the polar dip was going to be and were amazed at all the trucks, cars and people on the lake.
There are so many stories I could tell....riding on the lake at night, heading to the armory, being Ms. Cadillac for a few minutes, and Angie dumping the sled. Falling asleep by 9 pm the first night and making it til after midnight the second. It was a great girls weekend. I hope it is one of many...
