My 5K!

As a mother you do everything for everyone but you tend to forget how important you are. This was the best mothers day weekend ever. I accomplished something for myself. A year and a half ago I started loosing weight. One year ago I started working out and 6 months ago I began running. Running is something I never thought I could do nor enjoy. I was wrong. I set a goal to run in the fifth third riverbank run 5K and I did it....and I did it well. I did this for myself and for my kids. I want them to know that no matter how old your are, what people expect, if you want something DO IT. I am proud of myself and how hard I worked to get here. I couldn't run 10 years ago, now two kids and 32 I finished my first 5K. I climbed a mountain and at that finish line on Saturday morning I felt I was on top of the world, just me and God!
Courtney and I got a hotel Friday night so we could walk to the race Saturday morning. My race started at 7:30 and Courtneys started at 8:20. I had beautiful weather. The rain held out until after I crossed the finish line. Courtney didn't have such luck. But rain or no rain we had a great time.

I now have a starting point and I will just keep breaking the time!
I ran 35.04 which is an 11 minute mile. I landed right in the middle for my age range, 30-34 year olds.

Thank you to everyone who supported my crazy goal. Mom you have always been my rock. You started me on this crazy journey! Courtney, thank you for pushing me, giving me advice and not letting me quit. Someday I will run with you! Dan, thanks for letting me take evenings away from all of you to go to the gym. Thank you to all my friends who were as excited as me everytime I ran just a little longer or a little faster. Dad, thank you for apoligizing, I can run and this day was the best because I got to proove you wrong...hahahha! to my Tyler and Sam I only hope that you accomplish everything you want because you see me as an example!
I love you all!

Never Too Early To Camp!

It was opening weekend at Hemlock Lake Campground where we have our seasonal sight. Of course that means we HAVE to camp! Courtney, Jeremy, Cammy and Cole all came out with there camper to enjoy the weekend with us. After the week before when both kids had the flu (Sam's trip to the ER) it was a nice treat to get away. Life is perfect when your campinUnfortunately, the weather was cool and we had rain but it didn't stop the kids from playing. Tyler started out with a fat lip, ended up with a bloody knee and a whole lot of scratches. Thats what happen on a "german" bike and a gravel rode! Cammy brought her "german" bike for tyler to try and he fell in love (not just with Cammy but the bike too). Boy did he have fun on this thing. Regardless of the bruises, blood and all the falls he kept getting on. I think he would have slept with the bike if he could.

I can't forget to mention that we were the first ones in the lake this year...yes we were nuts. But the kids were smiling I swear!

We also made the decision that Sam wasn't using a pack-n-play anymore. She could sleep next to Tyler. It didn't go so bad. Courtney stayed up with me the first night while they both cried, whined, argued, and giggled until they finally fell asleep.

Samantha's first haircut...kinda

She doesn't have much but what she did have wasn't pretty. We need to trim it up a bit (she looked like she had a mullet)and I was anxious to get her first haircut. Especially since some of you probably remember me thinking my little girl was NEVER going to have hair. Unfortunately, this trip to the salon came right after our ER visit so she wasn't so into sitting in the chair alone right away. This is very out of charecter for Sam, she is so independent and always wanting to be center of attention...but not today. It took awhile for her to warm up.
Pictures aren't the greatest but I have to blog it for memories sake!
