Beach Day with the Hahns

I have been off of work for 90 days and haven't spend a morning/afternoon at the beach with the kids (not including family vacation). Today was the perfect summer day. We arrived in St Jo to a red flag and the kids couldn't swim. However, water guns and sand kept them occupied. We took a walk down the beach and by the time we got back the flag turned yellow. With big waves calling our names, even Janice and I played in the water. There were tons of laughs...I had a blast! Ending the afternoon with pizza. GREAT DAY!

New Farm Gate

Another step closer! Its a baby step....but we have a farm gate. Sam also tried to ride the dirt bike. AFter Dan put the training wheels back on...it lasted about 30 seconds...and she was DONE.

Geocaching

What a great idea. I have heard for years about geocaching...a scavenger hunt with a GPS. Well, finally I tried....and now I'm addicted. Can't wait for the next time. Shannon, troy, Ali, the kids and I all ventured out in Paw Paw for 4 different Geocaches. It was a ball

Just 4 Pieces...mmmm...pork chops

Where to begin...
For a couple days we have made tyler start eating everything at the table. His not eating has become and issue because now he is HUNGRY! Therefore, there is no more skipping dinner when 1/2 hour later he is hungry. So, he was not happy when we were not going to let him get up from the table until his FOUR peices of pork chop were gone. Everyone was done. The table was cleared. Dishes were put away and Dan was even working in the garage while Tyler was STILL at the table. After a few clues from Tyler I knew he was up to no good. When he finally said he was done I checked the garbage and you bet....pork chops in a napkin. I quietly told him to go to his room, while holding back a chuckle. I was mad at the same time. Dan and I decided to let him sit in his room, he felt awful without anymore being said by us. 10 minutes later I checked on him and he was crying. However, I still let him sit in there. I started mowing the grass, Sam and Dan ran to TSC, and while waiting tyler fell asleep. NOW WHAT DO WE DO? Well, when he finally woke an hour later he had 4 peices of pork chops waiting at the table. AND he had Dan asking what happened....I left the room and luckily Tyler told Dan the truth. With that he was to sit and finish dinner....25 minutes later he was done. I think the scariest part for Tyler is that I never raised my voice or talked to him. hahahahah

Sams 5 year Portraits

Melissa let us have a sneak peek of our session. These are 4 of the many photos we get to choose from. I can not believe that my baby girl isn't a baby anymore. Seems like yesterday Tyler was having his portraits done. I am in awe of her beauty...those blue eyes and blonde hair! I love her!

Chicago

Laurie was trying to find something to do since she was on vacation and I am always up for a trip to Chicago...so off we went. We met in Michigan City and took the train to Millenium Station. From there we walked and hit a trolley to Navy Peir. It was a great time. The kids got to see all the big buildings and the crazy street people. We went to the fountain, the beach and even rode a ride. We had lunch and a few drinks (and a few more). The kids had a blast checking out all the bathrooms (they constantly were peeing). These pictures don't even come close in showing the good time we ALL had. I am so lucky to have great friends and a wonderful husband who lets us run off and play!

Ending the Vacation with Friends and Family

Debbie, Keith, timmy, Jami, Marc, Zoe, Aaron, Laurie, Hannah, Parker, Shaun, and Taden all visited us Saturday. The morning started out beautiful but unfortunately the afternoon took a turn. Red Flag and winds killed the beach for us. So, we all hung at the camper, cooked out, had smores and laughed and laughed! Great way to end the amazing week.
